I too suffered the same fate. We had cloudy weather with meatballs which left the streets more like a river for the best part of a week. We had snow on Xmas eve and ice everywhere on Xmas day. Xmas day also came with a very pleasant surprise? Heard the doorbell ring and found a parcel on the doorstep with no-one in sight and not a footprint to be seen? Contents included 3 bottles of beer, a small pudding, a box of chocolate biscuits and a tin box with Scottish shortbread + an Xmas stocking full of doggy treats for my four legged friend. What's even more weird is that I was watching Santa delivering pressies on the NORAD website??? So far, nobody has owned up , a real whodunnit... unless?
