After what has been quite honestly 2 series of awful tv, series 3 is very good.
I'm up to episode 5, and it is proper Star Trek. It's a good story, that wouldn't feel out of place on The Next Generation, and I cant wait to see where the story goes. And the effects are excellent.
I read somewhere that Patrick Stewart had quite a bit of creative control over the first 2 seasons, and for me that was a huge mistake. This season makes up for it though.
Highly recommended.

Definitely going to check it out now. I was worried based on what I had heard about seasons 1 and 2.

I wasn't at all impressed with season 1. I've just started to watch season 2 and, to be honest, my thoughts were if episodes 1 & 2 are anything to go by then Season 3 was going to be a none runner in much the same way as Discovery went from bad to worse over the following seasons. Being bored out of my skin - due to recovering from a new knee op and suffering a shattered ankle on the same leg after going base over apex ( not enough water in the medication ) - or just being a glutton for punishment, I've gone ahead and ordered a copy of Strange New Worlds in the hope things can only get better rather then worse? Hopefully, 888's take on season 3 might be the light at the end of the tunnel. PS: Have just watched a film called Man of Tai Chi - circa 2013 directed by and starring Keanu Reeves. Mostly in Chinese but with some mind boggling martial arts combat, including from KR. Turns out he really is proficient in a variety of the martial arts. Season 3 was great - like a long 10-hour TNG movie.
