should I ever get around to getting an upgrade and I decide to fire up F@H again is there any way I can recover passkey when i don't have access to the original email account?
I still have a client on this pc but i assume by now there is a much newer one. If i install a newer one though i wont be able to put in passkey and I'll be dammed if i am paying for electricity knowing i should be getting many more points.
Would rather not start a new account as my current account is the one that is the team founder log on as well and it will muck up my stats (WU completed etc)

Although I run mine on Linux, and it might be a different layout in the Windows version - but my passkey is in clear text in the config.xml file. So you might be able to find yours in your previous installation somewhere.......

Actually, just found a way if you still have the client installed with your original passkey! If you're on Windows at least; paths are probably different on Linux / Mac. Head to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\configs\ and open your latest config-<yyyymmdd>-<hhmmss>.xml In the .xml, there's a <!-- User Information -->
<passkey v='[redacted]'/> section, stored in plain text... I've confirmed that this passkey stored in the .xml is the same as the one I retrieved from apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey

Superb - I have saved it as a txt file on my desktop just in case. Thanks for help, just need an new setup in order to run it. (if it saves that file each time then it's been longer than I thought since i last ran folding, last day of nov 2012 )
