Yea I've got a new toy and am running it through its paces.
So far its looking excellent for Folding, and OK for Rosetta - but I need to run some more Rosetta tests. |

I was done with the upgrades, but it is a form of addiction  I decided that my everyday machine was getting a bit long in the tooth and had the chance of a custom machine with an Asus Rampage motherboard and an ok i7 CPU thats watercooled, but with an Asus ROG RTX2070 graphics card. The whole system runs much quieter, cooler and quicker - and it seems to use a lot less power that my old dual Xeon setup. The Asus ROG RTX2070 seems to be averaging about 2.1 million points per day, which is a lot more than I thought it would do.
I'm going to try and run the 2070 and my old 1060 nvidias together in this machine - so that I can dedicate the newer GPU to Folding 24/7, while not affecting the graphics for my everyday stuff. I'll let you know if I blow everything up.

I wish i had the chance of picking up something decent - been considering an upgrade but from what i can gather there are new amd chips coming out soon and new GPU's seems a bad time to buy, prices seem to have gone up during covid and I am at the stage where i cant just upgrade a single component.
