To paraphrase Peter Cook in 'The Princess Bride' with a bit of Churchill:
Folding is is whut bwings us togevveh today. Wike a dweam wifin a dweam. It is a widdle, wrapped in a mystewy, inside an ewigma. Folding, too folding will fowwow you forwever so tweasure your folding.

8 year old Corsair H-100 died Monday, just got CPU cooler replacement in today and installed. Back in business, yay!

yeah, it can be a scary thought, especially if it's on 24/7. I replaced with a Noctua air cooler, like their fans, coolers are pretty good as well. I don't OC so it's good enough for me.

Stick with Air and use less cores if need be. Good to see you back up and running noticed you hadnt submitted and thought you had done a runner again.

Dang it, leave the house for a few days and the system shuts down. Guessing power outage, and I’ve never needed a UPS before. A side effect of living out in the sticks. Might be next purchase, might not be worth it as power can be out for a few hours at a time.
I’ll try to let the team know if I have to cut and run.

It is typical that this type of thing always seems to happen when you're away for a while.
After some power problems that I had at home a few years ago, I used to run a Liebert GXT2 UPS (2KVA) that had the extended battery pack - it would last for 3 to 4 hours running on battery, but it wasn't worth the hassle of replacing all of the faulty batteries every few years - and we haven't had a power outage here for a long time, so I don't use it anymore. Way back then, this cost thousands of pounds - It was paid for by my work though, so that I could always rely on my home machine (for Seti). They're cheaper now, but still cost quite a bit - and the cost of maintenance has to be taken into account, because the batteries will need replacing regularly. Its probably not worth the outlay for the occasional power outage.

Hi 888,
Yeah, I'm in agreement, not worth the cost/maint/effort. Back now, looks like the system rebooted, so probably was a power outage. got it going again and crunching away.
