I must admit that I thought it was amazing. Visually spectacular, and as far as I remember the book (I read it a LONG time ago), quite accurate. At the end, I could have watched another 2.5 hours.

i liked the book but the sequels just got worse as they went on. I haven't watched anything that came after so will have to wonder what I missed good or bad? I will have to watch this new version as according to one actor incumbent - " Resistence is futile" - and am piqued by some of the on-line comments and updated variations, some of which can be found here - - > www.buzzfeed.com/evelinamedina/dune-differences-between-2021-1984

Last time I watched anything Dune-related was the 1984 movie with Patrick Stewart in it. It was... ok.
Looking forward to the new one when I can find a couple of hours to watch it at night, in my office / game room for optimum reflection-free viewing.

Last time I watched anything Dune-related was the 1984 movie with Patrick Stewart in it. It was... ok. Ah! Gurney Halleck? He sort of disappeared in that version so it will be interesting to see if the character resurfaces or is gone for good? I'd like to think the character comes back, either in Pt.1 or Pt.2, as I hate unresolved mysteries real or otherwise.
