I now have fibre to the home which uses a single fibre cable connection from the external fibre cable box on the internal wall. I have the cable with the fibre fittings but am damned if I can find a modem that allows the required fibre to fibre fitting. BT seems that their devices would work but am of the impression they are locked as are some others I've looked at.
Looking to replace the ISP AdTran modem to allow more device connections and allow - at a later date - my own router to be used instead of the provided eero device. The eero device has just two RJ45 connection, one for the AdTran modem and the other to which I have connected a TP-Link extender unit to allow connection to my solar panels Wi-Fi which allows i'net connection for the app access.
Am now in the process of looking at various media converter units that require an add-on GBIC/SFP device but so far can’t find the correct single mode fibre input required. This is mainly down to not being able to see clearly the input point on the gbic/sfp devices.
Any help regards media converters / gbic sfp, or better still, any modems that allow any ISP fibre-fibre connection appreciated
