Got notification on W11 whilst routine checking for updates etc. I'm sure the more savvy techy-types will already be on the case but for IT plonkers like myself , it might be worth checking the links provided - if system allows the W11 upgrade - as there are some caveats to be aware of?

I have an early adopter close by at work, and he seems to be happy so far.

Seems I've been gifted with an early download of W11 which took just over an hour for the download to complete with the usual bumph still being downloaded - Orrifice 365 - even when not requested, plus the usual offer of Adds plus some other - to my mind - unwanted Apps. It will take some getting used to as the layout differs somewhat, possibly reminiscent of W7 to W8/10 and, believe it or not... in W11, they've included a reset back to W7? I did read that there was a reset back to W10 within a - small 10 day frame. Something to look into. I've got a Dell S/W W10 re-installer ready, just in case?

I like it. Animations and sounds are much nicer than in Windows 10.

I like it. Animations and sounds are much nicer than in Windows 10. Reading elsewhere, it seems there are many issues affecting various aspects of the OS? There are also many, many others who are happy with it, so perhaps I'm one of the unlucky ones? Bearing in mind, my new partially freebie system is an i9, UHD 3840 x 2400 screen, nVidia GTX 1650Ti with 32Gb ram, it isn't exactly border-line specs. For the time being I've binned it? Reasons being... The animations were the screen jumping around like a cat on a hot tin roof which at times had 3" high letters sitting atop each other. Random warning sounds which switched made the screen flicker on/off? Trying to - send to, copy & paste word files, photo's and or video files - into the new Windows empty folders, all ended up in black holes? I should add that all drivers etc., were right upto date in W10 and Dell SupportAssistant. I'll wait 'till the New year and, if still free to U/G, will give it another shot?
