Has anyone suffered with driver related problems? In my case, specifically USB/SD card reading?
Have been awaiting a new motherboard from the Dellvil brigade which was fitted yesterday. It works OK - fingers X'd - as I have not updated the OS since late January - disk management issues and BB dropouts - was put in mothballs.
Just suffered another round on another laptop as the self-same issue showed itself. Having checked this and that it shows a wad of errors all related to bad or missing drivers.
Have been online and it seems there are others out there with similar issues.
Have been removing the affected items from the system and carrying out an update which cleared the problem. After another W10 update... and back to square one.
Anyone care to comment?

I know this doesn't help with your problem, but I gave up on Windows over 5 years ago. It was a combination of Security problems, bloated software, slow O/S, occasional bad updates and other issues. My machines mostly are set up to dual boot - defaulting to Linux, but with Windows there for legacy software - I've only had to boot to Windows a handful of times over the past few years, and I must admit, to me it always seems like a backward step. Recently I even upgraded the Windows partition on my Alienware M17X laptop from Win7 to W10. Big mistake .......apparently the dual Radeon graphics cards aren't good enough for the O/S and I cant get the updated drivers for them.

The bogeyman has struck again? In the year I've had the Dellvil i9, I'm just about to get my fourth (4) motherboard installed.
Been having the same problem with each board, in that the SD Card Reader refuses to accept the cards. This time around, 5 SD cards were actually recognised before the boom came down
New in May 19th 20, new board fitted 24th September 20. Next board fitted April 19th 21... believe it or not... it lasted until Saturday, just under 72hrs. Next board due for fitting in the next day or so???
Have had a word with a Scottish newspaper to see if they can set the dogs loose and get things sorted. Asked to have the kit replaced, which has been refused.
I should add, that even their remote IT agent couldn't fathom what was going on. BIOS was checked, and all drivers were apparently up to date?
Just have to wait and see... so watch this space...
UPDATE: Today, 5th May, I was informed they can't source the MB and it will "possibly be another 10 days" until they receive the goods?
